Web-Deployable, Secure, Roundtrip Analysis

Analyst Desktop provides web-delivered document analysis and visual charting capabilities to intelligence analysts worldwide. Integrated closely with Intelligence Hub, Analyst Desktop provides round trip link charting to ensure the capture of any relationship analysis performed by users are retained for ongoing use.

Minimise Training Costs with a User-Friendly Set of Tools

Analyst Desktop is designed with simplicity in mind, easy to use and roll out across a wide user base with different levels of training and experience. With standard training taking only one day to learn to use the document analysis and charting tools, new users can be up and running quickly without the need for extensive planning or cost.

Retain Your Investment

At Distillery Software, we don't use expensive dongles that keep walking out the door. When you purchase a licence of Analyst Desktop, you keep that license, and you can use it anywhere your network allows.

Accurate, Integrated Document Analysis

Analyst Desktop provides integrated document analysis tools for working with repository, file system and open source text documents, including Microsoft Office documents, PDF, RTF and HTML. Documents can be dragged into the analysis environment from a web browser, analysed, then saved to the repository for inclusion in searches.

Document Summarisation

For large documents, summarisation offers a fast track to analysts looking to identify relevance or usefulness. Summarisation provides key phrase highlighting and document summaries. A document analysis tree provides links between the summarised phrases and their locations in the text for rapid access.

Entity Extraction

Analyst Desktop's Entity Extraction capability automatically identifies entities like dates, places, people, organisations, vehicles, etc in text documents, automatically highlighting those terms in the document, and collating them in a unified entity view for rapid location in the document. Discovered entities can be cross-checked against the underlying intelligence repository for probable matches, allowing users to quickly identify whether persons of interest are mentioned in the document.

This provides a rapid ingestion process - speeding up the entry of entities from source documents, such as witness statements and information reports.

Entity Extraction

Enhanced Entity Extraction With NICTA Machine Learning

NICTA Logo NICTA (National ICT Australia) have been working with Distillery Software to enhance entity extraction with a machine learning capability designed to learn from users as they work with documents. The technology has proved enormously successful to date, providing 50% increases in accuracy over standard rule-based approaches with test data - with the greatest improvements seen in Organisation recognition.

Secure, Roundtrip Visualisation

Analyst Desktop's Visual Link Charting capability works directly with Distillery Intelligence Hub's Security Framework to ensure that only intelligence which is available to the user can be extracted from the repository. Analyst Desktop supports chart sharing with other users, but enforces the security framework when those users attempt to view the chart, avoiding any possibility of the charting capability overriding security policies. New entities and links can be added from Analyst Desktop, then saved back into the intelligence repository. Analyst Desktop is fully integrated with Distillery Intelligence Hub, and supports link and entity searches into the underlying repository, providing a powerful analysis tool. Used in conjunction with the entity extraction capability in Analyst Desktop, documents can be automatically analysed to identify entities of interest, cross-checked against the repository, then added to a visual chart for further link searching and analysis.

Customisable Display Templates

Analyst Desktop's Visual Link Charting allows both administrators and end users to define display templates to provide both entity and attribute based display of entities in diagrams, including the use of custom icons. In addition, link types can also be customised within templates to highlight specific relationships.

Wide Range of Layout Algorithms

Analyst Desktop provides a wide range of layout algorithms, including Radial, Vertical Tree, Circle and Random, as well as algorithms designed to emphasize focal points. Algorithms scale diagrams to fit zoom levels. Once applied, entity positions can be modified manually for greater clarity.

Radial Vertical Tree Circle Random

Link & Entity Filtering

Analyst Desktop supports both link and entity filtering, allowing analysts to run focussed, efficient searches into the underlying repository.

Find Shortest Path Between...

Analyst Desktop allows users to select multiple entities, then search the repository for connections between them, revealing hidden or unexpected links, and provide insight into possible relationships.
